In the face of increasing natural and climate-change-induced disasters, vulnerable populations—particularly women and under-represented groups—bear a disproportionate burden. From unequal access to resources and disaster relief to increased risks of displacement, violence, and economic instability, these communities face unique challenges that demand urgent global attention.
Under the umbrella of the World Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, this symposium will bring together experts to explore the social, economic, and health impacts of climate disasters on marginalized populations. Through presentations, case studies, and students' presentations, we will identify innovative technical solutions, policy recommendations, and community-driven strategies to build resilient and inclusive disaster response frameworks.
Join us as we work toward a future where disaster preparedness and recovery efforts are equitable, inclusive, and sustainable for all.
Date & Time: 5 August 2025 (Tuesday), 10:00-17:45 JST (live venue/Zoom)
